Tips
22.8 g of protein for 1.27 g of fat. The best ratio of all the crustaceans in the database, and one of the best across all families.
0.47 g of salt: three times less than a brown shrimp. It is not cooked in brine. This is a real advantage for anyone watching their sodium.
209 mg of cholesterol: put it in perspective. Dietary cholesterol has little influence on blood cholesterol in most people, and guidelines no longer set a ceiling. What matters more is that prawns contain almost no saturated fatty acids.
5.98 mg of vitamin E: half the reference intake. An unexpected score for a lean crustacean.
Wild and French: that is its selling point. Unlike farmed tropical king prawns, it is caught locally. Its price and seasonality reflect that.
