Tips
It is slightly lighter than a knack. 279 kcal against 291, and 23.4 g of fat against 25.9 g for a Strasbourg sausage. The gap remains modest.
3.37 g of carbohydrate: that is not normal for a meat. These are sugars, starch or glucose syrup added to the recipe. It is a sign of processing, visible on the ingredients list.
2 g of salt per 100 g. Two 50 g sausages provide 2 g of salt, or 40% of the daily guideline.
It counts towards the processed meat guideline. 150 g a week, all products combined, according to the Programme national nutrition santé.
It is already cooked: it only needs heating. Ten minutes in hot but not boiling water. A Frankfurter that is boiled splits and turns mealy.
