Tips
22 g of protein for 1.73 g of fat: exceptional at this counter. It even beats cooked ham on both counts. Poaching and the absence of added fat explain it all.
The jelly is not fat. It is collagen in solution, from the cooking stock: it provides very few calories and holds the slice together.
2 g of salt per 100 g. A 60 g slice provides 1.2 g, a quarter of the daily guideline. This is the only point of caution with the product.
It is made for composed salads. Its leanness and firmness make it an excellent cold source of protein: with raw vegetables, lentils or a vinaigrette made with mustard.
A fresh product: three days once opened. Like all cold meats in jelly, it keeps for a short time and should be eaten quickly.
