Ingredients
- 8 brik pastry sheets (or filo)
- 300 g minced meat or vegetables
- 1 onion
- 1 tsp curry powder
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tbsp oil
Method
- Fry the onion, the meat (or vegetables) and the spices.
- Cut the brik sheets into strips and place a spoonful of filling at one end.
- Fold into successive triangles.
- Brush with a little oil and bake for 20 minutes at 180 °C, turning halfway through.
Nutritional highlights
Baked rather than fried, samosas do not soak up frying oil: you keep the crunch while cutting the fat. The vegetable or lean meat filling and the spices make for a tasty, sensible bite.
Variations and substitutions
- Vegetarian (potato and pea).
- With chicken.
- With tuna.
- With vegetables and cheese.
Storage and making ahead
Keep for 2 days and reheat in the oven; they can be frozen raw and then baked straight from frozen.
💡 Good to know
Use just a brush of oil before baking: a thin layer is enough to brown and crisp them like deep-fried ones, without the oil bath.
