Ingredients

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 160°C. Mix the oats, roughly chopped almonds and seeds.
  2. Add the melted coconut oil and the honey, and mix well.
  3. Spread on a baking tray and bake for 20 minutes, stirring halfway through.
  4. Out of the oven, stir in the protein powder once the granola is lukewarm, then leave to cool.

Nutritional benefits

This granola boosts the protein in your breakfast (12 g per serving), ideal for active people, while providing fibre (oats) and healthy fats (almonds, seeds). Homemade, it avoids the excess sugar of industrial granolas. Perfect on skyr for a complete high-protein bowl.

Variations and substitutions

  • With walnuts, hazelnuts or mixed seeds.
  • Chocolate: chocolate protein powder and chocolate chips.
  • Without honey: maple syrup or date purée.
  • Without protein powder: classic granola.

Storage and making ahead

Keeps for 3 to 4 weeks in an airtight jar. Add the protein powder after baking to preserve its quality.

💡 Good to know

Never add the protein powder before baking (it would burn): stir it in once the granola is lukewarm, out of the oven.
