Ingredients
- 150 g frozen mixed berries
- 1 banana
- 100 g natural yoghurt
- 1 tbsp rolled oats
- 1 tbsp chia seeds
- fresh fruit for the topping
Method
- Blend the berries, banana and yoghurt until thick.

Nutritional benefits
Berries are rich in antioxidants and low in calories, banana adds sweetness and potassium, and yoghurt gives protein and creaminess. More filling than a drinkable smoothie (you eat it slowly), it is a vitamin-packed, balanced breakfast.
Variations and substitutions
- Vegan: use plant-based yoghurt.
- With mango or other tropical fruit.
- Higher in protein: use skyr or add a scoop of protein powder.
- With different toppings: granola, coconut, almonds.
Storage and making ahead
Eat straight away to keep the frosty texture.
💡 Good to know
Use frozen fruit and a very ripe banana: that is what gives the thick, spoonable texture without needing ice cubes.
