Ingredients

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 180 °C. Blend the oats, egg, protein powder, milk and cinnamon.
  2. Stir in half of the diced apple.
  3. Pour into a ramekin and arrange the rest of the apple on top.
  4. Bake for 22 to 25 minutes.

Nutritional benefits

These protein baked oats combine oats (beta-glucans that are good for cholesterol, and complex carbohydrate) with a scoop of protein powder (24 g) for satiety and muscle. The apple adds fibre and natural sweetness with no added sugar. A complete, filling and heart-friendly breakfast.

Variations and substitutions

  • With berries, banana or pears.
  • Chocolatey: chocolate protein powder plus cocoa.
  • Without protein powder: skyr plus more oats.
  • With peanut butter for extra indulgence.

Storage and making ahead

Keeps for 3 days and can be reheated for 30 seconds in the microwave: make them in ramekins for the week.

💡 Good to know

Take them out while the centre is still slightly gooey for a soft texture, like a warm apple sponge.
