Ingredients
- 100 g rolled oats
- 2 eggs
- 2 scoops (60 g) of protein powder
- 150 ml milk
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 banana
Method
- Blend all the ingredients until you have a smooth batter.
- Leave to rest for 5 minutes and preheat the waffle iron.
- Pour in a ladleful of batter and cook for 3 to 4 minutes per waffle.
- Serve with fromage blanc and fruit.
Nutritional benefits
These waffles provide a good dose of protein (21 g per serving) thanks to the powder and eggs, while the oats provide slow-release carbohydrate. With no refined sugar, they give steadier energy than a standard waffle and support muscle recovery. An ideal breakfast or snack for active people.
Variations and substitutions
- Without protein powder: replace with more oats and skyr.
- Chocolate: chocolate protein powder and dark chocolate chips.
- Gluten-free: use certified gluten-free oats.
- Savoury: leave out the banana and add herbs and cheese.
Storage and making ahead
Keep for 2 days and freeze well: reheat in the toaster. Make a double batch for the week.
💡 Good to know
For really crisp waffles, cook them a little longer and do not stack them while hot (the steam softens them).
